We are a hemp store, organic cotton store, and organic linen store, all rolled into one.
We tweet new product announcements, backorder updates, and special sales on discontinued & defective items via our Twitter account. It's a short and sweet way to keep in touch with our customers. So be sure to follow us on Twitter!
Dealing only with the purest organic natural fibers, we are a small manufacturer, and proud of it: Small is beautiful for us. Coping with production queues from weaving to cutting to sewing and finishing is one of our ongoing challenges. Despite all planning efforts and our extensive inventory in all products we offer, there are occasionally some specific items that are temporarily out of stock. Often caused by raw material shortages, this may result in waiting times. We try to keep you informed if you have a product on backorder, and offer suitable substitute choices. Please don't hesitate to call us or email with your order number to change the order at any time.
In such situations, we are asking our customers for their patience. Back-ordered items are only charged at the time of shipping, and you may cancel your unshipped order (except for made-to-order mattresses). Rest assured that there are no delays at our end - as soon as a shipment arrives, we drop everything, 'call all hands on deck' and fill the backorders before doing anything else.
Thanks again for choosing sustainability!
A summary of several large-scale medical studies found no evidence that nutritional supplements (such as various vitamins, anti-oxidants, and minerals in pill or liquid form) help against chronic cardiovascular or cognitive diseases, or cancer. In unambiguous terms, the lead researchers write "The message is simple: Most supplements do not prevent chronic disease or death, their use is not justified and they should be avoided."
The three studies, consisting of two new clinical studies and a US Preventative Services Task Force review of a further 27 studies, clearly point to supplements not only being a huge waste of money, but to potential health risks of taking them. These findings are consistent with past research that has come to similar conclusions. And yet, the supplements industry, exploiting fear and uncertainty of consumers of an impaired modern industrial food chain, sells ever-increasing record volumes of such supplement products. The studies actually find that nutritional supplements of Vitamins A and E, as well as Beta-carotene, increase incidence of disease and death. The journal editors summarize the results: "We believe that the case is closed — supplementing the diet of well-nourished adults with most mineral or vitamin supplements has no clear benefit and might even be harmful."
FDA: Chemical anti-bacterial soaps useless in reducing germs and can be even harmful to human health.
The FDA announced on Dec 16, 2013 that a wide range of commonly used anti-bacterial products not only don’t kill the germs, but may pose significant health risks to regular users. The harmful chemicals, found in many popular personal hygiene, kitchen and bath soaps, were found to damage to vital hormone functions in lab animals, and encourage development of drug-resistant super-bugs. The potential health risks to humans that regularly use those soaps include infertility and cancer.
In response, the FDA will require industry to demonstrate both effectiveness against germs, and safety for consumers, of any such products from 2016. The new rule applies to all soaps labeled as ‘anti-bacterial’, but not to alcohol-based hand sanitizers. The FDA announcement comes three years after European authorities restricted the use of the main chemicals.
Sweatshop-free Organic Hemp Products & Linen Products
Since 2000, Rawganique has been supplying the global eco-community with fair trade, fair labor, & sweatshop-free organic hemp products and organic cotton & linen products that are unique and sustainably made in USA, Canada, & Europe.
In 2005, Rawganique.com became the first and only hemp store on earth with clothing and home products made from certified organic hemp fiber. Ecolution, our partner in vision, has kindly set aside 60 acres of their hemp fields for organic certification (the first and only organic hemp fiber certification as far as we know) especially for making hemp clothing and home products for Rawganique.com's discerning customers.
*Only Ecolution products that are made especially for Rawganique.com are made from certified organic hemp fiber.* Organic farming practices do make a difference, especially in making sure that the soil stays organic even when farmers plant alternate drops after the hemp harvest. And Romania (where our certified organic hemp is grown, processed, and made into hemp products for us) will soon be joining the EU, so you can be sure that Western standards of labor are adhered to at every step of the manufacturing process. Rawganique.com also carries a full line of exclusive quality organic cotton products and organic French linen products.
Our organic European hemp products and our new line of organic French linen products are as pure and sustainable as can be. We wish to thank all of our customers who have made it possible for us to bring out new earth-friendly products that didn't exist before or have long been unavailable. May love, peace, happiness, and sustainability prevail. Namaste.
Cannabis Sativa (Industrial Hemp Products):
Conventional cotton production accounts for more than 10 percent of pesticides used today and nearly 23 percent of agricultural insecticide sales. It takes one quarter of a pound of chemicals to produce 2 pairs of conventional men's boxer shorts. Cotton pesticides can enter the human food chain via cottonseed oil used in processed foods.
Hemp foods are the highest source of essential fatty acids in the entire plant kingdom. Hemp clothing products are comfortable, beautiful, and easy on the planet.
