We do not test any of our products on animals. We use natural or fiber reactive dyes and no bleach.

We make stuff that fits, so you'll find that many of our hypo-allergenic organic products come in standard, Big & Tall, Plus, & Petite sizes and a whole lot of coziness.

Rawganique ships to USA, Canada, Australia, Europe, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, S. Korea, Hong Kong, and more.

FAQ: Is there a difference between European and Chinese hemp?

We deal only with organic European hemp because there is a big difference between European hemp and Chinese hemp. Our European hemp is grown without chemicals, defoliants, or pesticides of any kind. We mechanically comb and wash our European hemp in warm water to soften the fibers, whereas Chinese hemp is often bathed in toxic chemicals and acids to soften the fibers, making the Chinese hemp fibers weaker in the process, not to mention the corresponding detrimental environmental and health consequences of those chemicals.

Did you know?

Many mainstream big-name clothiers are now offering so-called "organic cotton, linen, or hemp clothing," usually made in China & India. Independent labs in Germany have found as much as 30% GMO cotton in them. Claims of organic cotton fabrics turn out to contain only 3% organic cotton content, with the rest being made up of conventional cotton. Many clothiers also treat linen and hemp fabrics with so much chemicals that they could hardly be called organic or natural anymore.

As a small manufacturer, we take pride in sourcing only 100% organic cotton, linen, & hemp from countries with strict environmental and labor standards (European countries, USA, Canada). We obtain our organic fibers from small growers, then weave luxurious natural & organic fabrics in small batches, before sewing and finishing them with a mind to environmental sustainability. Much of the price you pay for our products go directly towards the raw organic materials, production costs, and fair wages. We aim for a modest profit so as to be able to begin the cycle of production all over again, thereby continuing to make available organic products that are better for workers, wearers, and the environment.

About Rawganique

"I love to see anything that implies a simpler mode of life and a greater nearness to the earth. " — Henry David Thoreau

As a human-scale family business, we've been celebrating uniqueness since 2000. At Rawganique.com, pure is the word! We design and manufacture unique and organic products made from sustainable natural fibers that are good for human and planetary health.

Our goal is to tread lightly on this fragile planet of ours. We believe in purity, sustainability, simplicity, integrity of the human spirit, and quality of life. To that end, the organic cotton, linen, and hemp products we make are free of objectionable stuff like PVC, formaldehyde, animal cruelty, dioxin, bleach, pesticides, heavy metals, acids, or harsh chemicals.

The co-founders of Rawganique have been homesteading on a small island off the Strait of Georgia since 1999, when they created an off-the-grid homestead that is self-sufficient. The homestead is powered by the sun & wind and yields most of their yummy organic foods year-round.

We truly believe that our planet deserves our care. We love what we do, we are passionate about our work, and we are grateful for the chance to connect with like-minded folks from around the world. Here's to all of you kindred spirits out there: Thank you for being there.

May love, peace, happiness, sustainability, and truth prevail.

Namaste. ("I honor the place in you in which the entire Universe dwells, I honor the place in you which is of Love, of Integrity, of Wisdom and of Peace. When you are in that place in you, and I am in that place in me, we are One." — From Wikipedia entry for Namaste.)

FAQ: Do you hold seasonal sales?

No. We don't believe in marking things up excessively and then marking them down and calling it a "sale". We have very modest margins; much of the price the customer pays for our products goes towards organic cultivation and processing, fair labor costs, the high shipping costs of a small outfit like ours, and the high costs of natural and organic raw materials. Once in a while, we need more room in our warehouse, so we put items at a discount on our Specials page. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to keep abreast of our new arrivals and specials.

Why we don't carry bamboo (or soy or tencil) fiber products:

As designers, we are tempted by bamboo's promise and softness, but as eco-conscious people we have resisted the urge to use it because the process of turning the bamboo plant into a man-made, soft bamboo fabric uses way too many acids, chemicals, and natural resources for our liking.

For now, we have found that we can make almost everything our customers could ever need with three ancient fibers that are pure, sustainable, versatile, and soft enough for any purpose: organic cotton, hemp, and linen.

News: The US and Canadian governments are going after false claims made by manufacturers of bamboo products because the fiber labeled "bamboo" in many products is actually rayon.

>>Under the Textile Labeling Act and Regulations, "bamboo" is not listed as a generic fiber name, and as a result it is not legal to identify the fiber content on a label as "bamboo". Because of the processing involved, "rayon" must be used."

>> "Four sellers of clothing and other textile products with deceptively labeling and advertising these items as made of bamboo fiber, when they are made of rayon."
