Big Sur Hemp Sandals

Our RG-TBSS12 Handmade Leather-free Vegan Big Sur Hemp Sandals are styled after the ubiquitous, well-made early Birkenst*ck sandals — without the leather, of course, as our hemp shoes and sandals are animal-friendly.

Limited availability. Please specify substitutes in "Comments" at checkout if possible. More are being made.

The Big Sur Hemp Sandals are fun to wear year-round. The 100% hemp uppers are made from certified organic hemp that is processed without chemicals or pesticides in Romania for true purity and environmental sustainability. The fabric is a soft but strong hemp canvas that is water-resistant, thanks to the natural oils present in the hemp fiber (although it will get wet in a soaking rain so we don't recommend wearing them when it's pouring out), and comfortable to wear from get-go (no breaking-in period necessary).

The Big Sur Hemp Sandals come in whole women's sizes 8 to 11 and whole men's sizes 7 to 9 in the Natural color of hemp (pictured) or Brown. Size 8 fits 8 to 8.5, size 9 fits 9 to 9.5, and so on.

The Big Sur Hemp Sandals feature a cork foot bed and water repellent sole. An adjustable velcro strap accommodates most foot widths.

Handmade at the Rawganique Atelier in Europe. Sweatshop-free. Vegan.

Broke after 2 months September 29, 2018
Reviewer: Jon from Greeley, CO
They were great for 2 months, then one of the soles split in half, through the cork and about 3/4 through, I didn't go running in them or put them under any stress at all, so either this pair was defective, or these sandals aren't made very well. I emailed the company and they said "well that's unusual" and offered me a $10 store credit (NO RETURNS), a $62 loss. for 2 month old sandals? I could have spent $12 on some petroleum sandals and been able to get them replaced 2 months later if defective. Rawganique: you can keep your $10 store credit, put it towards a book on customer service, you have lost this one forever.

My favorite sandals! August 6, 2018
Reviewer: Taylor from Tucson
I have spent the entire summer so far in these sandals. In the dry climate they're a perfect combination of structured footbed, very strong upper, and airy, natural hemp material. They adjusted to my foot pretty quickly and have become like a second skin. I love the new natural rubber sole. It's so hard to find a non-toxic sandal, that's it for me and I'm not looking any further. Keep making them!!

Bait and switched on me? July 9, 2018
Reviewer: Kelly Taylor from Tualatin, OR United States
The photo is misleading: Shown is a white sandal and a brown sandal; natural is dark beige, NOT WHITE, so the two choices of colors are not congruent with the photo...The text in your online ad says it is handmade at Rawganique, but the label on the sandal is "Pan World Traders" "made in Romania" & Ecolution, Inc. (out of Santa Cruz, CA).   I gave you guys my exact foot measurements and this sandal is a whole size too big; but you let me buy it (and did not offer something smaller or call me about it).  The sole in the photo is black and thick, the one on the sandal is butterscotch color and thin & quite stiff.  Nothing like the picture in the ad online.
