Sizing: As long as your waist size is at least 2 inches below the maximum waist size of the size in question (please see below), your Hemp Yoga Karate Pants will fit you perfectly, thanks to the proprietary non-elastic drawstring that evenly distributes the excess fabric in the back of the pants, keeping the front flat and a neat, draping appearance all around, so that the pants never look bulky or ill-fitted, no matter how much smaller your waist is than the "maximum waist size" of the size in question. Gusseted crotch styling does not have a measurable inseam so we approximate it for you above (a pretty good estimate, from our experience). If you require longer pants, please select the "Unhemmed" option and have your hemp yoga karate pants hemmed at the nearest dry cleaner's. |

| Care: | Wash the hemp or linen yoga karate pants in warm water with like color using a mild, biodegradable detergent. Hang or lay flat to dry (many customers, for convenience, machine dry their pants on delicate/low and remove promptly just before dry — they have reported that the pants are apparently fine with this too). The organic linen or hemp and organic cotton fabric, which is designed to be strong for intense martial arts use, does have a lot of spring at first. It will soften and relax quite a bit after some wear and a few washings. |

Our Elastic-free Organic Linen Yoga Karate Pants and Organic Hemp Yoga Karate Pants are cut in the authentic karate styling with gusseted crotch.

Special edition Linen or Hemp Karate Pants (Yoga Pants) for the practice room as well as for casual and dressy everyday wear: The simple elegance and cozy comfort of these casual/dressy hemp yoga karate pants belie the care that went into their rugged, double-stitched gusseted construction; pants feature six parallel bottom seams for an elegant, finished look (except for Extra-long Inseam option, which has a simple bottom seam that can easily be undone to let the pants down for hemming to length).
Extremely popular as yoga pants and as a casual drawstring with a twist, the Linen or Hemp Yoga | Karate Pants are also favored by many dancers for their graceful form and quiet elegance that help bring the underlying drama of artistic expression to the fore. They are of course perfect for yoga, meditation, gym sessions, and the various martial arts as well: karate, kung fu, judo, tai chi chuan, aikido, kendo, and jujitsu. Wearing instructions: Strings are drawn outward from the sides until the waist is snug, then looped through the belt loop in the front (in an ingenious pulley system) before tying; pants are completely free of elastic or Lycra/Spandex.
The specially-woven hemp and linen fabrics are lush, cozy, smooth, soft, & voluptuous as silk, draping perfectly, with just the right amount of structure and spring to it which holds up the pants' shape wash after wash, wear after wear.
We couldn't resist making our new yoga karate pants from hemp's well-known sister fiber flax linen as well. Flax linen, like hemp, is an easy to grow and durable ancient fiber that's experiencing a tremendous renaissance, thanks to its purity and environmental sustainability. The ancients often used the word "linen" interchangeably to refer to hemp linen and flax linen, so it's all the more fitting that we include both fibers in our new yoga karate pants collection.

Tidbits re: flax linen from Hans Christian Andersen (trans. by R. P. Keigwin): The flax was in full bloom. It had the loveliest blue flowers, as soft as the wings on a moth, and even more delicate. The sun shone down on the flax and the rain-cloud watered it; and this was just as good for the flax as it is for little children to be washed and then have a kiss from mother. They are much nicer after that, aren't they? And so, too, was the flax. "They say that I hold myself remarkably well," said the flax, "and that I'm growing lovely and long -- they'll get a fine piece of linen from me. My word, how lucky I am!
