where is our hard-earned dollar going?? in this day of complex chains of cause and effect, it's good to know there's a simple way to still salvage what's left of our environment: we can spend our dollar on organically-grown foods and hemp, flax, and organic cotton clothing, footwear, and home products. in so doing, we effectively and efficiently stop the plundering of our environment. it's our way of telling chemical companies and big-name conventional and synthetic clothing manufacturers and farmers that unsustainable practices have got to stop and stop now. in so doing, we're also protecting our health as well as that of our children, of farm workers and of the environment. every dollar counts. every dollar spent on chemically-treated and pesticide- and fertilizer-grown products enriches the coffers of multinational corporations and keeps them going. every organic underwear counts. every organic banana counts. every dollar counts. it counts towards a future that will not be there if we as humanity keep going as we have.

Rawganique has been producing organic clothing, home, and footwear products since 2000. We are known for our commitment and uncompromising attitude to manufacturing only the purest, most sustainable products possible. We make organic products for the purist who will not settle for anything less than true purity and environmental sustainability.

We stock all colors of the organic products that we carry. All of our products are sweatshop-free, PVC-free, chemical-free, and pure as can be.

Did you know?

Many mainstream big-name clothiers are now offering so-called "organic cotton, linen, or hemp clothing," usually made in China & India. Independent labs in Germany have found as much as 30% GMO cotton in them. Claims of organic cotton fabrics turn out to contain only 3% organic cotton content, with the rest made up of conventional cotton. Many clothiers also treat linen and hemp fabrics with so much chemicals that they could hardly be called organic or natural anymore.

As a small manufacturer, we take pride in sourcing only 100% organic cotton, linen, & hemp from countries with strict environmental and labor standards (European countries, USA, Canada). We obtain our organic fibers from small growers, then weave luxurious natural & organic fabrics in small batches, before sewing and finishing them with a mind to environmental sustainability. Much of the price you pay for our products go directly towards the raw organic materials, production, and fair-wage labor. We aim for a modest profit so as to be able to begin the cycle of production all over again, thereby making available organic products that are better for workers, wears, and the environment.

Why we don't carry bamboo (or soy or tencil) fiber products:

As designers, we are tempted by bamboo's promise and softness, but as eco-conscious people we have resisted the urge to use it because the process of turning the bamboo plant into a man-made, soft bamboo fabric uses way too many acids, chemicals, and natural resources for our liking.

For now, we have found that we can make almost everything our customers could ever need with three ancient fibers that are pure, sustainable, versatile, and soft enough for any purpose: organic cotton, hemp, and linen.

News: The US and Canadian governments are going after false claims made by manufacturers of bamboo products because the fiber labeled "bamboo" in many products is actually rayon.

>>Under the Textile Labeling Act and Regulations, "bamboo" is not listed as a generic fiber name, and as a result it is not legal to identify the fiber content on a label as "bamboo". Because of the processing involved, "rayon" must be used."

>> "Four sellers of clothing and other textile products with deceptively labeling and advertising these items as made of bamboo fiber, when they are made of rayon."
