Our organic hemp and French linen table cloths are fashioned after the luscious French and Irish linen table cloths of yore that we've been collecting from secondhand places in Europe and Canada. When we lived in France, we fell in love with a particularly intimate bistro in Montpellier (Southern France) which used authentic French table linens. The linen table cloths, place mats, and napkins had seen a lot of use: they proudly displayed stains from food and wine that the bistro's patrons had enjoyed through the years, and they were always pressed crisp per tradition. It was a gorgeous sight to behold, and we were very moved by their simplicity and elegance. It was a truly intimate experience, full of character, warmth, and charm that we will never forget. There is nothing like precious heritage linens passed on from generation to generation, a testament to the continuity of human experience.

• How are your linen and hemp table cloths different?
  
  They are made by Rawganique in Europe from the finest certified organic French linen or European hemp yarns, which are especially made into fine linens for us by master weavers specializing in heritage linens. Chemical-free. Sweatshop-free.
  
  
• How come your prices are much lower than those I have seen in traditional, non-organic linen shops?
  
  Because we manufacture and sell direct to customers so there are no middle people to mark things up along the way. We also have a lower overhead than physical stores. And of course our linen table cloths are organic and free of all the chemicals and pesticides associated with conventional products, facts that make them even more special.
  
  
• What's hemp and linen table cloths like?
  
  Fine French linens have long been a symbol of elegance and comfort. To connoisseurs, fine linens have a distinctly luxurious hand, full of texture and character. • How do I care for my Organic French & Hemp Table Linens?
  
  Our organic linen table cloths and table accessories are hand or machine washable in warm water with like colors (gentle cycle, mild biodegradable detergent). They should be hung or laid flat to dry (machine drying is not recommended as dry heat is very hard on natural fibers such as hemp and flax). They may be steam-ironed at the highest linen setting.

Please note: We do not use chemicals of any kind to "fix" or stabilize the fabric size or wrinkle-proof our fabrics, opting instead to let the organic linen and hemp fabrics settle naturally on their own. Therefore, the sizes mentioned are the sizes we started out with; the final sizing may vary due to natural shrinkage during the washing and ironing of the organic table linens.
