Vegan Hemp | Flax Linen Socks $10-$12

Made from a very special 42% hemp and 58% flax linen knit blend with just a hint of elastic at the cuffs for a snug wrap-around, our cozy hemp | flax socks (shown above) are your best bet if you are looking for the most natural, pure, and ecologically sustainable socks. The certified organic hemp and flax are grown and processed without chemicals or pesticides of any kind in Romania. Elegant in the classic jersey knit, these socks are wonderfully versatile: they are great as casual or dress socks.

Available in Medium (Low Crew Jersey) $10 or Large (Ribbed Crew) $12. Choice of Natural or naturally-dyed Oak Brown, and Oregano (deep earthy green). Please note: please expect variations in natural dyes due to the hemp fiber's unique reaction to them which varies from batch to batch.

Elastic-free Hemp Rainbow Socks & Hemp Rainbow Stockings $16-$18

Hemp socks and hemp stockings from certified organic European hemp (blended with organically grown flax for structure) are here in fun shades of the rainbow spectrum, which cascade down and ripple every which way in gentle gradations of stunning colors and tones.

Our hemp socks and stockings are made the old way from an old-fashioned hemp jersey knit that is reminiscent of the very best hand-knit socks and stockings of yesteryear. We're bringing these old-fashioned socks back because we truly believe that certain things are best done the time-honored way, which also happens to be purer, more durable, and more sustainable than any conventional socks you can find on the market today.

Both our hemp socks and hemp stockings are the only elastic-free hemp socks on the market. They are specifically designed for the purist who will settle for nothing less than true purity and environmental sustainability.

One size fits most for hemp stockings ($18). Hemp socks are offered in two sizes. Medium size ($16) fits most women as well as men with smaller foot sizes. Large size ($18) fits most men as well as women with larger foot sizes.

More info on the fiber composition of Hemp | Flax Socks:

In order to produce our finest knits, we blend hemp with its sister eco-fiber, flax. This new blend has a lightweight, linen-like feel to it that combines the breathability, durability, and suppleness of hemp and flax into a unique product that is 100% environmentally friendly.

Only eco-friendly mordants are used to fix the colors. Naturally dyed colors are more sensitive to wash and wear and some may fade in time (only the colors, not the fiber!). Machine wash cold for best results. All of our featured fibers are processed without the use of any chemicals whatsoever.

Note on Hemp | Flax Socks style: Medium is available in Jersey Low Crew only and Large comes in Ribbed Crew only (see photo).

A note on hemp/flax sox: Since they don't contain any elastic except for the few strands at the cuffs, these socks are not to be compared with "conventional" socks which are laden with elastic to make them form-fitting. The hemp/flax socks really are great but may take a little getting used to (be sure to get the right size). You'll appreciate the sturdy and solid texture and durability of these socks, thanks to the hemp and flax—the two strongest fibers we know. You won't find a more eco-friendly pair of socks anywhere. However, if you're looking for an eco-friendly version of more conventional socks, may we suggest the Hemp Wool Socks, Hemp Anklets, Hemp-Cotton Socks on this page and/or any of our Organic Cotton Socks, which are fluffier and more snug than hemp socks.
