These delicious, smooth and tender Amazon Rainforest Organic Hearts of Palm, with their distinguishing natural white color and light flavor, are harvested under a strict and highly successful program of forest conservation in the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest.

The natural and wild environment of the Amazon produces the world's highest quality hearts of palm without the use of any chemicals - as nature intended. Harvested from the native premium "Euterpe" palmito variety, these hearts of palm are renowned not only for their flavor and texture, but also because consumers are directly driving conservation of the Amazon. Over thirty international awards have been bestowed on their quality.  

Harvest requires that each palm has seeded twice before it is harvested, assuring the preservation of the forest and a long-term sustainable industry for local communities. The conservation program also involves the rotation of harvest areas within a large expanse of natural rainforest, further reducing the impact of harvesting and protecting a larger area of the Amazon and its bio diversity through Conscious Consumerism.

Because only adult palms can be harvested, the diameter of our organic heart pieces is generally fairly large and thick (1 to 2 inches diameter) but still maintain a softness characteristic of this premium, natural variety. While not 100% raw (our Organic Hearts of Palm are slightly steamed before being directly packaged in cans), the Certified Organic Hearts of Palm are not mucous forming and light enough to digest easily with green salads from our experience. Great in many vegan and vegetarian dishes or by themselves over salads.
