If you've been to Thailand, you would have seen these great, truly versatile, and ubiquitous Thai Fisherman's Wrap Pants. You can't miss them because almost everybody has worn them somewhere, at some point or other -- they are just too cozy and comfortable! In fact, we loved them so much we decided to produce all-organic cotton and all-hemp versions for our discerning customers who will settle for nothing less than true purity and environmental sustainability in their everyday lives.

For our Certified Organic Cotton Thai Fisherman's Pants and Hemp Fisherman's Pants, we've stuck to the classic simple design that has worked so well over the years. They are unisex and unisize and should fit most everybody. Women love wearing these because they are so versatile -- you can truly exercise your creativity in twisting and turning and rolling the top or folding the bottom of these organic cotton pants to create a signature look unique only to you. Wrap them left, wrap them right, or distribute the folds equally in the front or back: there really are endless ways to wear the Organic Cotton Thai Fisherman's Pants and Hemp Thai Fishermen's Pants.

Pregnant women will love our Organic Thai Fishermen's Pants because they comfortably accommodate the growing belly up to 54" round. You can wear them as tight or as loose as you like as there is no elastic to confine you at the waist. Many kick-boxers in Thailand also wear the Thai Fishermen's Pants in kick boxing competition: the legs are rolled up all the way and the top rolled down and the whole pants pulled back hard and the strings knotted tight to make a kind of free-style shorts that allow for unrestricted movement that kick boxing requires.

It may take a bit of experimenting (it's part of the fun) to find just the right folds and tucks that work for you -- we offer basic wearing instructions further below only as a preliminary guide to get you started. They weren't originally made to be trendy, but like most classic clothing items that have become mainstream due to comfort and practical & efficient design, the Thai Fisherman's Pants have entered the rarefied realm of "really cool" clothing.

A customer recently told us that the Thai Fisherman's Pants have become the "uniform" that all stylists wear at one of the trendiest hair salons in Amsterdam. Men and women love them because they are so simple to put on and allow for ease of movement, whether you're doing kick boxing, beach combing, practicing T'ai Chi, yoga, or meditation, or just lounging & relaxing. (An aside to men: no fly on the Thai Fishermen's Pants but none is needed; the Thai men traditionally just roll the wide legs up for easy access.) Our authentic Organic Cotton or Hemp Thai Fishermen's Pants are also wonderful for expecting mothers because they can easily accommodate the growing belly (up to 54" inches) with purity, sustainability, comfort, and style.

Although traditionally worn as part of a casual setup, the Thai Fisherman's Pants have recently been turned into designer items with different patterns printed onto the sides of the pants, etc... Your imagination is the limit: wear them urban-dressy or casual-cool, it's up to you. And if you know a bit about screen printing, well, you'll have lots of fun churning out your own unique design statements.

We offer our RG672 Certified Organic Cotton Thai Fisherman's Pants in five great colors:

• Saffron/Adobe/Brick -- pictured below with Organic Hemp Laundry Sack/Beach Bag, this color is a cross between that other ubiquitous item in Thailand: the long, flowing saffron robes that Buddhist monks wear and the earthy color of brick. It's an amazing and entirely unique color that goes with just about everything and looks great on both men and women.
• Ecru Natural -- This is the unbleached & undyed natural color of organic cotton fiber.
• Indigo Blue -- Another classic color that is timeless and versatile. Deep, calming, luscious.
• Charcoal -- A popular color from our hemp Thai Fisherman's Pants that we're now making in organic cotton, too.
• Earth Brown -- Color of dark chocolate: Earthy, zen, mindful. Shown top photo.

New: We now also offer the RG672 European Hemp Thai Fisherman's Pants in three colors:

• Ecru Natural -- this is natural color of hemp yarn; great for tropical climates because the light color reflects heat while allowing light to pass through. Note: more beige/coffee than the Ivory shown in photo above.
• Saffron/Brick -- this is a similar color to the Saffron/Brick above in organic cotton (not exactly the same because the fiber reactive dyes react different to organic cotton yarn than to hemp yarn. Saffron color with a good touch of brick.
• Charcoal -- medium/dark grey with a touch of slate. Very elegant, classy, subtle, & versatile (see swatch further below).

The unisex unisize of the Organic Cotton Thai Fisherman's Pants and European Hemp Thai Fisherman's Pants fit absolutely every waist size up to 54". The pants are approximately 40" long top to bottom (but many inches of that will be folded over the waist tie) and may be worn at any length, short or long, depending on how tall you are (folks normally requiring 36" or 38" inseam will either wear them really low or wear them as clam diggers' pants), how low or high you tie the satchel around your waist, and how much of the top you roll over the tied satchel.

New Extra-long version is 47" long top to bottom. This option costs $2 more. Also, by popular request, we are now making our Organic Thai Fisherman's Pants with a zippered pocket on the right thigh that measures 5" wide by 6" long: handy for change, keys, bills, etc.. (this option should come standard with most pants, except for some colors which we have left over from the previous production; please be informed that we ship pants as inventory permits and most pants will come with a zippered pockets while some may not).

The fabric is a specially-made-for-the-occasion lush 230-ct organic cotton sateen that is breathable, silky, smooth, and very soft. The hemp version features a cozy and supremely breathable 5.5 oz / sq yd 100% hemp linen fabric from organically grown European hemp that drapes wonderfully well.

Only biodegradable fiber-reactive dyes were used and absolutely no heavy metals were used in the dyeing process of our Organic Cotton and Hemp Thai Fisherman's Pants. Made in Europe under fair labor conditions from IMO (of Switzerland)-certified organic cotton fiber or organically grown European hemp. Fair trade: no sweatshop or child/underwaged labor.

Basic wearing instructions: Pull the pants on (with the two waist ties on the backside) until the bottom of the pants is a little above the floor. Either wrap the pants right, then left, or vice versa, or distribute the folds in the front or back so that the pants are snug against the waist. Keep holding the pants up; bring the two strings forward and tie them in the front. Then roll the top fabric over the tied strings. Of course, you can experiment with different ways of wrapping and distributing the folds and different heights at which you tie the strings to create your signature look. Enjoy!
