Certified Organic Pima Cotton Briefs

(Relaxed Cut) -- Made in Canada
organic clothing products

Our new Organic Pima Cotton Briefs are designed with years of customers' feedback in mind and meant to complement our original Organic Cotton Briefs rather than replace them.

Here's a quick run-down of the Organic Pima Cotton Briefs features:

  • The Organic Pima Cotton Briefs have an organic cotton-covered elastic waistband so your skin doesn't touch the waistband elastic — per many customer requests. The original Organic Cotton Briefs, in contrast, feature a classic exposed elastic waist band.
  • The Organic Pima Cotton Briefs have a relaxed (wider) leg opening and a deeper accommodation at the crotch and all in all feature a more relaxed cut than the original Organic Cotton Briefs, which are cut fitted for optimal crotch support for the more active lifestyle. The relaxed leg opening of the Organic Pima Cotton Briefs is particularly noteworthy for customers who have thicker thighs (we've had lots of requests from football players especially for a more relaxed leg opening on this account).
  • The Organic Pima Cotton Briefs feature a slightly stretchier organic cotton jersey fabric than the original Organic Cotton Briefs for a smoother, more relaxed feel. Incidentally, we made our new Organic Pima Cotton Briefs from the same lush organic pima jersey that we use to make our best-selling line of organic pima cotton underwear for both men and women.
  • Like the original Organic Cotton Briefs, the Organic Pima Cotton Briefs feature a front fly and are mindfully made, with loving attention paid to minute details which makes all the difference when it comes to quality intimates.

Made in entirely in Canada from certified organic USA cotton by Clean Undies, our partner in vision for a better world (Clean Undies makes many other organic products for us — and the great thing is, they produce only organic cotton products and zero conventional cotton products). Our new Organic Pima Cotton Briefs are an important addition to the organic wardrobe.

The Organic Pima Cotton Briefs are offered in Natural (unbleached & undyed) in the following men's sizes (standard US/Canadian sizing). The recommended waist measurements are shown below in inches.

"Purchasing 2 pairs of organic cotton or hemp underwear will eliminate one fourth of a pound of chemicals that would have been used to produce the same underwear using conventional cotton." Read more about why conventional cotton maybe harmful to the environment and why organic cotton can help preserve our natural surroundings at bottom of page.

Note from our Canadian manufacturer:

Clean Undies is the premiere choice for people with chemical sensitivities, and for those who choose to wear organics for health reasons.

The Organic Cotton Company oversees every step of the processing of our organic pima cotton from raw fiber to spinning to knitting to cutting and sewing. We can assure our customers that Clean Undies are truly the cleanest cotton underwear available, never treated or contaminated with chemicals.

Only our exclusive 100% organic pima cotton fabric touches the skin. The elastics are fully covered. Our fabric is a 1x1 baby rib knit – the long staple pima and the structure of the knit offers remarkable stretch and recovery without synthetic elastic yarns. Never bleached or dyed, the cotton retains its natural strength and resilience to create a longer-lasting pair of underwear.

Care Instructions: Our Organic Cotton Briefs are machine washable with like colors as you would other knit cotton products (mild biodegradable detergent is best). We recommend line drying your organic briefs as the dry heat from drying machines are hard on elastics and natural fibers. No bleach, except for oxygen-based or hydrogen-peroxide-based whiteners.

Conventional Cotton Underwear (why it is bad):

  • Conventional cotton underwear is processed with chlorine bleach. Formaldehyde is also applied in the processing of the fabrics.
  • Dioxin is a carcinogen derived from chlorine bleach and is responsible for hormone disruption.
  • Conventional dye-ing process also has heavy metals that contain harmful carcinogens.
  • Conventional cotton production accounts for more than 10 percent of pesticides used and nearly 23 percent of agricultural insecticide sales.
  • It takes one-fourth of a pound of chemicals to produce one conventional cotton T-shirt and one-fourth of a pound of pesticides to produce 2 paris of men's conventional boxer shorts.
  • Cotton pesticides can enter the human food chain via cottonseed oil used in processed food. The meat and dairy products from cows fed cottonseed meal, trash from cotton gins, and cotton straw may also contain pesticides that were applied to the conventional cotton plant.
  • Contamination of ground water is directly linked to pesticide & fertilizer use on conventional cotton crops. Nitrates found in these fertilizers are found to cause "blue baby syndrome" in infants.
  • Use of chemicals in processing makes the fibers weaker and there more prone to wear out faster.

Why buy Organic Cotton or Hemp Underwear? (why it is good for you and the environment):

  • Organic cotton cultivation does not use any synthetic fertilizer or pesticide.
  • Growing the crop organically does not damage the soil, environment, or human health.
  • Organic cotton farming does not poison farm workers or their families.
  • Organic certification organizations will not allow genetically modified (GMO) fiber to be labeled organic, there certified organic cotton underwear products are GMO free.
  • Purchasing 2 organic cotton men's boxers will eliminate one fourth of a pound of chemicals that would be used to produce the same underwear using conventional cotton.
  • Buying organic underwear, clothing, and home products will go a long way in helping to reduce the "blue baby syndrome" among infants, among other health and environmental afflictions.
  • Organic cotton is stronger because there is no damage to the fiber from conventional cotton chemical processing.
  • Because you -- and we -- care about what happens to our environment and future generations.
