Amazing scrubbing action. Perfect sauna and friction towels. Premium heirloom linen weave is based on heritage linen waffle towels we found while on tour in Provence. The honeycomb pattern is integral in the weave of the fabric, not sewn in as most waffle towels are nowadays. 100% organic Irish linen yarns. Same fabric also offered in aprons, kitchen towels, and bathrobes.
3) Hemp Heritage Waffle Towels, from $11
Strong weave. Wonderful for scrubbing. Absorbent. Heritage hemp weave. The honeycomb pattern is woven into the fabric. Organically grown European hemp yarns (with 50% organic cotton for structure). Same fabric also offered in kitchen towels and blankets.
All are unbleached & undyed, absorbent, quick to dry, and great for traveling, too, because of their small footprint and light weight. Made in Europe. Sweatshop-free. No heavy metals or harsh chemicals whatsoever were used in production.

Luxury medium spa weight, our organic cotton waffle towels are super absorbent, quick drying (they come out practically dry from the washing machine's spin cycle), and frictive, making them perfect for the sauna, steam room, everyday use, as well as travel and hiking. It may take some getting used to for those accustomed to drying themselves with terry towels, but once used to toweling with these lightweight towels, you'll be hooked. Our customers love that the honeycomb fabric is so quick to dry between uses, easy to wash (a quick boil in a pot of water will effectively clean and sterilize it: of course, you can hand-wash or machine-wash these waffle towels as well), and convenient for travel. Many of our customers prefer to travel with their own organic towels because of severe allergic reactions against chemicals routinely used in the manufacture of conventional towels and against the powerful but often harmful bleach & detergents that most hotels use.

Waffle towels have long been the traditional towels of choice in many cultures around the world, even before terry towels existed. In Scandinavia, for example, the waffle towel is very common in saunas and spas, so much so that waffle towels are often referred to as Finnish, Danish, Norwegian, or Swedish sauna or massage towels. Also known as Swedish friction towels. Vigorous rubbing after a shower, bath, sauna, or swim helps to invigorate and improve blood circulation.

Absolutely no heavy metals or harsh chemicals of any kind were used in the production of our organic cotton honeycomb waffle bathrobe. Made in EU by Rawganique from 100% certified organic cotton (no polyester, nylon, or other synthetic fibers).

Note: For true purity and environmental sustainability, we did not chemically remove the natural cotton oils from our organic cotton fibers, as is commonly done with conventional towels (and even with some organic towels). It will take a few uses and washings to naturally take away the cotton oils from the towels before they achieve full absorbency.
