"Voluptuously luxurious" is the only way to describe our extra-thick, very special and very cozy 100% organic cotton chenille and jacquard woven blankets for all seasons. The intricate pattern on this certified organic cotton blanket is so refined that many of our customers use it as a bedspread/bed cover as well. Our organic cotton blankets are well-made, with careful attention paid throughout for even the smallest detail.

In comparison to our Organic Hemp/Linen Knit Blanket (whose jersey knit is heavier and heftier) and our Organic Hemp/Linen Terry Blanket (which is fuzzier and warmer), our Organic Cotton Blankets are very soft and just as cozy as the other two. Deciding between them may come down to fiber and color preference.

Choice of Ecru Natural color (unbleached, undyed) or Colorgrown Mocha (also unbleached & undyed -- this special cotton naturally grows in the warm mocha color, which does not bleed or run). (Tidbits: Incidentally, the original color of cotton was brown -- the light cream color that we refer to as Natural today is actually the result of many generations of special breeding and natural hybridizing.)

Our Organic Cotton Blankets are made with pride in the USA from USA-grown certified organic cotton: this means GMO-free, chemical-free, and pesticide-free. (Beware: "Natural Cotton" or "Green Cotton" are not organically grown cotton at all -- both are conventionally grown cotton (with all the pesticides and chemical fertilizers that the conventional growing process entails). The "Natural" or "Green" in the terms simply refers to the fact that no "additional" chemicals were applied during the manufacturing process. As such, the terms Natural Cotton and Green Cotton are quite misleading as they in effect are generally exactly the same as conventionally grown cotton.

This point is especially important for people suffering from multiple chemical sensitivities: many befuddled chemically-sensitive customers have reported to us that the "Green Cotton" products they purchased elsewhere brought on the same allergic reactions as conventional cotton. The reason why is that the so-called "Green Cotton" in many cases is actually the same as conventional cotton! To be sure of true purity, especially where it really matters like intimates and bedding and bath products, it's best to opt for certified organic cotton.

Ecru Natural Organic Cotton Blanket is woven in the classic waffle style and the Colorgrown Mocha is woven in a fuzzier Chenille-Herringbone style (please see inset photos above and below). Both are completely unbleached and undyed and certified organic.

Organic Cotton Throw Blanket and Organic Cotton Baby/Crib Blanket feature elegant frilled edges and a macramé weave -- they are both available in Natural only (see photos top of page and further below).

Our organic cotton blankets are as thick as organic cotton blankets can be. Variously called winter supreme weight and 4-season weight, the hefty weight of our organic cotton blankets will see you through every month of the year -- especially if you prefer to sleep on the cool side in the colder months. If you require more warmth, we recommend layering one of our organic comforters on top of the organic cotton blanket to trap the heat from your body to keep you comfortable even on the coldest of nights.
