• What's an organic cotton mattress barrier cover? It's a zippered enclosure made of a certified organic cotton that's very smooth and tightly woven.Your mattress or futon fits inside it. It protects your mattress against dust mites, dirt, insects, and whatnot. It's machine washable and dryable on low heat (remove promptly).
  
  
• How is your organic cotton barrier cloth different? It's made in Canada from certified organic cotton. Chemical-free. Sweatshop-free. It features premium-quality brass zippers.
  
  
• What else do I need to know? Our organic cotton barrier cloth covers qualify for Economic shipping option to the US (48 states) and most of Canada. If we are out of stock on a size, there will be a 2-week production time before product ships. Since it is a custom order, product is charged at time of order. Made from a 100% certified organic cotton fabric that is unbleached and undyed, our barrier cloth covers are so tightly woven that no dirt, dust, or mite would get through while still allowing air to circulate freely, thus keeping your futon fresh, clean, and dry.

Our certified organic cotton futon/mattress barrier cloth covers are zippered two-thirds of the way through for easy fitting and removal come laundry time. The zipper is made from high-quality solid brass. Care instructions: Machine wash in lukewarm water with a mild, biodegradable detergent. Tumble-dry on low heat. Avoid bleach.

Machine picked, it is full of impurities, oil, leaves, and dirt. The cotton we use is cultivated and hand picked in the traditional co-operative manner that has been followed for centuries in the Cañete and Chincha valleys high in the Peruvian Andes.

It is grown organically without the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or defoliants to fertilize the crop, control plant growth or fight pests. No synthetic chemicals are used to strip the leaves in preparation for the harvest or during the manufacturing process.
